Tribute to Bobby Freeland On June 30, 2006 all of us and the greater hockey world lost one of its finest supporters, coach, fan, and above all, friend. Bobby Freeland passed away due to complications brought on by a liver virus. He will be deeply missed as a person that not only was a driving force in the development of hockey players, but also instrumental in providing life lessons for his players that serve them well in other arenas of life. Bobby was an integral part of the Portland Jr. Hawks Association from both a support and development standpoint and we will miss this support. A special fund has been set up for Bobby Freeland to assist his wife and children in this sudden and tragic circumstance.
