Summer 2009 Portland Area Hockey Camps

Though I know many of you go out of town for hockey camp, there are many high quality summer hockey camp opportunities coming up in the Portland/Vancouver area in Summer 2009. Please read below and check out the appropriate web sites for more information. Consider saving on those hotel and fuel costs and stay local!

PORTLAND WINTERHAWKS

The Portland Winterhawks are under new leadership and have committed to engaging with the surrounding hockey community and helping raise funds to support local youth hockey. They will be offering EIGHT hockey camps for various age groups at all three local rinks, including a goalie camp (replaces the PJH camp), learn-to-play camp, and their flagship 5-day hockey school.

• Squirts, 9-10, July 14-16, Mountain View Ice Arena, $150
• Peewees, 11-12, July 21-23, Valley, $150
• Mites/Squirts, 10 & Under, July 28-30, Sherwood Ice Arena, $150
• Bantams/High School, 13-17, August 4-6, Valley, $150
• Goalies, 17 & Under, August 10-14, Mountain View, $215
• Learn To Play, 17 & Under, August 11-14, Sherwood, $150
• PWH Hockey School, 14 & Under, August 17-21, Sherwood, $250

ROBBY GLANTZ POWER SKATING SCHOOL

The Robby Glantz school will be back at Sherwood Ice Arena July 6th-10th. This acclaimed power skating school offers a 15% discount to all Portland Jr. Hawk players and Northwest Select Girls' Hockey players (be sure to fill out the proper fields when registering to get the discount).

NORTHERN EDGE ELITE HOCKEY SCHOOL (NEEHS)

Northern Edge returns to Mt. View Ice Arena in Vancouver from August 3rd-7th with their Advanced Skills and Game Concepts program - NEEHS received rave reviews from local players after last year's camp. Northern Edge is also offering two FULL tuition scholarships to this camp, one for a Portland Jr. Hawks player and one for a Northwest Selects Girls' Hockey player.
